His areas of core competence includes Bangla Adhunik songs of Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Manna Dey, Subir Sen, Shyamal Mitra, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Old hindi film songs of Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, some popular ghazals and self composed numbers.
Academically, Pratap is a Cost Accountant & Company Secretary and currently holding the position of COO of a leading multinational company. He was attracted to music from a very tender age and later on started concentrating on the same in a very serious manner. A rare combination of talent, dedication and good sensibilities emerged from the musician at heart and this has precisely brought him to the lime-light of the musical arena in Kolkata.
